Highwire Safety Assessment Questions

What is the Highwire Safety Assessment?

Highwire’s Safety Assessment Program is an automated solution that provides the most comprehensive and actionable analysis available to both hiring partners and contractors. We utilize cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology developed at Harvard University to analyze a contractor’s safety documentation so results are displayed in seconds.

The program reviews both lagging and leading indicators of risk and normalizes the data for contractor size and type of work performed. Unlike other risk assessment solutions, the program identifies safety gaps that a contractor can use to address, rectify, and improve their score and grow their business.

How much does the assessment cost?

When do I need to enroll?

Hiring partners and general contractors utilize the program to evaluate contractors during the bidding process. For your bid to be considered, you will need to enroll prior to submitting a bid to a hiring partner or general contractor that utilizes the Safety Assessment Program. Completing the enrollment early will provide you with more of an opportunity to adjust your score in the event that you have a low initial score.

Should I enroll even if I do not have all of the information readily available?

Yes, all you need to get started is to answer a few questions about your company, your Tax ID number (US-only) and a valid payment method to enroll in the program. After enrolling, you can log back in at any time to complete any remaining information that you may need to take time to gather. The system will save your progress so you do not need to enter all the information at once.

What information needs to be entered for U.S. vendors?

  • Federal Tax ID
  • Valid Credit Card for enrollment fee
  • Experience Modification Rating for each of the last three years with supporting documentation from insurance broker/carrier.
  • OSHA Injury and Illness data for the last three years including:
    • the number of DART cases (cases involving Days Away, Restricted Duty, or Job Transfer)

  • Electronic version of your company’s OSHA 300A Summary Form

What information needs to be entered for international vendors?

  • Valid Credit Card or other acceptable payment form for enrollment fee
  • Injury and Illness Data for each of the last three years including:
    • the number of DART cases (cases involving Days Away from Work – worker misses one or more days of work as a result of an injury or illness)
    • the number of Minor Injury Cases (cases without Days Away from Work involving medical treatment beyond basic first aid)
    • Employee hours worked for each of the last three years
  • Regulatory Experience
  • Electronic version of your company’s Safety Manual
  • Electronic version of your company’s Certificate of Insurance (required for certain partners only)

Will other contractors be able to see my score or program?

No – you have full control. Only the hiring partners and general contractors you choose to share your information with will be able to see your score or information.

What if I do not participate in the safety assessment program?

You may not be able to bid or work on construction projects for hiring clients and general contractors that utilize the Highwire Safety Assessment Program.

Is the application secure enough to protect my financial statements?

For those contractors required to complete the financial assessment piece, we are ISO and SOC compliant, which means that we meet the most stringent electronic banking requirements. Please let us know if you would like to review our security certifications and we will happily send them to you.
